An informational meeting for parents of children attending Memorial Middle School next year will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 2nd in the LGI.  Principal Lisa Weir will provide information and answer questions about middle school life.

Bond Task Force Update – Several members of the CIT shared thoughts and comments regarding the work of the task force.  The overall consensus of the CIT was that information needs to get out to the community and a date needs to be determined.  Notes from each meeting are posted on the SBISD web site at this link: http://cms.springbranchisd.com/MyCampus/Elementary/CampusesAP/Frostwood/tabid/12014/Default.aspx

Task Force Meeting - January 13, 2011

On Tuesday night the Frostwood Rebuild Task Force met for a second time to discuss the options for the rebuild. We gathered at the newly opened Ridgecrest Elementary.

There were three things that were decided by a vote and everyone was in agreement:
1. The Frostwood campus will remain on the current site. There have been several suggestions to seek another property for the rebuilding of the new school. Following extensive discussion and presentation of the facts, everyone agreed to rebuild Frostwood on the existing property.
2. The new Frostwood will be a two story building. The architects presented layouts and the group decided that we would be able to save more green space with a two story plan.
3. The task force agreed that the best scenario for the students would be to move to a transition campus during the 18 month construction process.

The time line for this to happen is still up for discussion and the location of the transition campus is still up for discussion. Nothing has been decided by the task force regarding these two items.

Next meeting: January 25, 2011, at FWE.
The transition site located at Westchester Academy will be available to move into in late December 2011 with the possibility of some school (Frostwood – if we move up in the construction time line; Rummel Creek) starting January 2012 at this location. The task force has not made this determination as of yet.

Please note: The work of the task force is to develop a recommendation for Dr. Klussmann; the decisions of the task force are not definitive.
Remember…the notes from these meetings are posted on the SBISD web site in the Bond section of the site.
